wildlife photoPolycultures are grouping of plants that work together to help each other thrive and provide multiple functions for humans, wildlife and the landscape.

Strawberry: Strawberries are an excellent groundcover, a favorite for a children's garden and can be grown on mounds to save space. Alpine strawberries are great for borders and do not spread, woodland strawberry is recommended for a partial shade groundcover and Tri-star strawberry will produce berries for an extended growing season.

Chives: Chives bring beneficial insects to the garden, keep grass at bay and help keep unwanted pests away. Chives steeped in water makes a great spray for powdery mildew.

Borage: Borage helps strawberries thrive, it brings bees and other pollinators to the garden. Intense blue star shaped flowers add a burst of color that contrasts nicely with salad greens. The flower's delicate flavor tastes similar to cucumber.
